Pressure-testing your answers
The coach exists to make your answers sharper. How to use it, what it costs, and when it is worth spending.
How to use it
- Write an answer to any Academy question.
- Click Pressure-test this answer, under the answer box.
- Read the challenge and reply in the box at the bottom. Your draft stays editable on the right the whole time.
- Keep going until the answer says what you mean.
- Click Use this answer to drop the sharpened version back into the step.
Substantive replies fold into your draft as you go, so the answer grows while you talk. Short affirmations like "yes" or "makes sense" are skipped, so the draft does not fill with chatter.
What the coach does
It finds the weakest assumption in what you wrote and asks about it. It does not open with praise, and it will not accept "small business owners" as an audience.
A typical challenge quotes your own words back and asks who the answer is explicitly not for. If you can't name them, the answer is still too broad.
What it costs
Each reply from the coach uses one coaching reply from your monthly allowance. The panel header shows how many you have left, counting down as you go.

Opening the panel costs nothing. Only a reply from the coach counts.

Where it is worth spending
Volume is not the goal. A few sharp exchanges on the right answers beat forty on the wrong ones.
- Your positioning and your avatar - everything else inherits these
- Your price, and the reasoning you would defend it with
- Any answer you wrote quickly because it felt obvious
