The "That's So True" framework. Hook them with agreement.

The best hooks don't grab attention by being loud. They grab attention by being undeniably true. When someone reads or hears something that resonates deeply, they think: "That's so true." And once that happens, they're hooked.
This framework uses agreement as the entry point. Instead of pitching, persuading, or pushing — you start by saying something your audience already believes. Then you guide them from that belief to your message.
Step 1: The Universal Truth
Start with something your audience already knows to be true. This creates instant agreement and lowers resistance. The more specific and relatable, the better.
Example: "Most people don't leave companies — they leave managers."
Example: "The best salespeople don't sound like salespeople."
The universal truth is the door. If they agree with your opening line, they'll keep reading to see where you're going.
Step 2: The Truism
Now build on that truth with a statement that deepens the point. This is where you take their agreement and add a layer of insight. The truism makes your audience feel understood — like you see the world through their eyes.
"When someone feels understood, they don't just listen — they lean in."
Step 3: Bridge to Wants
Now connect that shared truth to something your audience actively wants. You've established agreement. You've deepened the insight. Now show them the gap between where they are and where they want to be.
This is the pivot. You're not selling yet — you're showing them a desire they already have and connecting it to the truth you just established.
Step 4: Lead to Message
Now deliver your actual message — your offer, your idea, your call to action. Because you started with truth and built through agreement, your message doesn't feel like a pitch. It feels like the logical conclusion.
Full example:
Universal Truth: "The best salespeople don't sound like salespeople."
Truism: "They sound like trusted advisors who genuinely understand the problem."
Bridge: "Most founders want to sell that way — but their messaging makes them sound like everyone else."
Message: "That's why we built the 3-Day Sprint — to build messaging that makes you sound like the expert you already are."
Use this framework for social posts, email openers, sales calls, webinars — anywhere you need to earn attention before you ask for action.
